• Question: On your profile it say you are a PhD student, what are you going to do with your life when you finish studying?

      Hello Lauren,
      That’s a good question, up until now I’ve been leaving that decision for future Dave to worry about. Let that poor guy sort it out…

      I think though that I’m going to try stay in research, so the next stage for me will to get a post-doctoral research post somewhere. This could either be working for someone else on an existing project, or if come up with an idea myself that I want to try then I could try get funding for that. The second option is obviously much harder!

      I’ll also have a decision to make about where I want to carry on. I’ve been in Nottingham for 6 years now so it’s probably time to move on, which will be a bit scary. It does open up the possibility of moving abroad somewhere though which might be a good experience. Like I say, I’ve not really thought it through yet. I’ve always tended to do what seems like a good idea at the time when it comes to these sorts of decisions, it’s worked out for me so far!
