• Question: Hi me again, what is the difference between scientist's jobs in England the USA or a foreign country?

      Hi changemyusername,

      I couldn’t say for sure, having never worked abroad! My impression is that in general, research groups in America tend to be a bit larger (and better funded). There are also differences between how much teaching you might be expected to do at certain stages of your career. For example, I don’t give lectures as a PhD student, but in America I might.

      In general though, scientific method is well established so there should be no difference in research methods worldwide. It is likely to be more the extra stuff that differs from place to place. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to find out myself at some point.
